The Missoulian seeks an enterprising general assignment reporter to chase breaking news, cover local issues and gatherings, write outdoors and general interest features, and contribute to our online news and social media efforts. If you know your way around the basic news beats and can tell a great feature story, you'll do well in this spot.
This reporter will work Tuesday through Saturday, primarily day shifts.
The Missoulian serves all of western Montana -- from the Canadian border south to Lost Trail Pass, on the Idaho border. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, including a 401K.
Apply online at http://missoulian.com/workhere/ by March 18. Questions? Email editor Sherry Devlin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We'll select a candidate with daily newspaper experience who displays excellent storytelling, spelling and grammar skills -- and can juggle daily assignments with some in-depth reporting. Skills in social media, video and online journalism are required. Creativity, an insatiable curiosity, a fire for daily journalism and an eagerness for where journalism is headed are essential.
