We seek individuals who can easily adapt to our fast-paced environment and show the necessary focus to complete projects in a short amount of time while maintaining the initiative and independence to complete other tasks. Applicants must be enrolled in college or graduate school (Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Material Science), or have equivalent professional experience.
Nuts and Bolts
The internship is located at our graffiti-covered global headquarters in Trenton, NJ. Interns will be asked to bring their own laptop computer to the office, but printing facilities and general office supplies will be provided. The preferred duration of the internship is May 2013 to August 2013 with an expected minimum of 20 hours per week. However, each internship can be customized, and the duration can vary on a case to case basis. Though, students seeking college credit must adhere to their educational institution’s internship requirements.
Although the internship if unpaid, we provide a bountiful lunch every day, a well-organized education experience with interdepartmental lectures so that you can learn about all aspects of TerraCycle’s operations and business management in general, regular intern events and company parties. In the previous year, TerraCycle had over 100 interns from top colleges, law schools and business schools. It’s a dynamic and highly charged entrepreneurial environment. TerraCycle will offer college credit and recommendations upon successful completion of the internship. Due to the company’s eco-focus, some schools, including Princeton, provide a stipend for their students to work at TerraCycle, so please check with your school if they can provide support.
