The Research Analyst will support all business units by conducting research and analysis, and developing tools and processes that improve the outcomes, quality, access to, engagement in, cost and utilization and management of IHA members’ health. Analysis and research will be designed to (1) improve clinical practice, (2) improve IHA’s ability to provide access to and deliver high quality, high-value health care, and (3) provide policy makers with the ability to assess the impact of system changes on outcomes, quality, access, cost, and use of health care resources.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/research discipline required.

  • One (1) year of research experience in a managed health care environment or an advanced degree in a quantitative/research discipline which included research experience.

  • Understands value of integrating multiple data sources: understands different types of data, such as clinical, administrative and personalization, and can draw associations with this data.

  • Ability to frame questions that create value for the business partners.

  • Ability to present and communicate output and analysis in a meaningful way that meets the understanding needs of the business partners.

  • Understands data warehousing concepts and data architecture, such as table structures, metadata, etc

  • Ability to access data using standardized tools and processes.

  • Ability to analyze information: strong data mining skills, strong statistical capabilities (study design, population assessment, epidemiologic analysis, and outcome evaluation), and effective development of rules and algorithms designed around operational processes.

  • Maintains confidentiality and uses only the minimum amount of protected health information (PHI) necessary to accomplish job related responsibilities.

  • Other duties as needed. Every associate is given a job description upon hire outlining the qualifications, duties, and pay grade of the position. Independent Health reserves the right to change job descriptions as necessary.

  • Good abilities in the use of computational software for statistical analysis.

  • Teamwork and leadership qualities are a plus.
