The American Enterprise Institute seeks a full-time research assistant to assist management in the Domestic Policy Studies department. General responsibilities include policy research, writing and editing, and conference planning.

50% of this position’s time would be devoted to research and administrative support for the Vice President of Domestic Policy Studies. Research would focus on long-term political trends, including demographic and population shifts and their effects on voting patterns. Broader issues related to conservative thought and policy would also be researched.

The remaining portion of time would be allocated to program assistance for the Domestic Policy Studies department and National Research Initiative program. This individual will assist in day-to-day departmental operations, including organizing public and private conferences, and providing as-needed research and administrative support to non-resident scholars.

This position requires excellent writing, research, and analytical skills. The successful candidate should be well-organized, detail-oriented, and have a demonstrated interest in the intersection of political trends, thought, and domestic public policy.
