This Research Assistant carries out the work of the extramurally funded project awarded to Morehead State University. This position will ensure the functioning of the project on a day to day basis by performing data collection/tracking activities as well as ensuring the integrity of project activities, helping with report writing, and attending national and local meetings related to project activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates interview schedules with participants in the assigned County Drug Court.
Coordinates evaluation data collection (which contains some sensitive questions) with participants in the assigned County Drug Court.
Enters data into the CSAT GPRA web site on a weekly basis.
Monitors participant recruitment and follow-up using and ACCESS database.
Coordinates locating and tracking efforts for the 6 month follow-up and discharge interviews.
Processes all tracking information.
Meets with PI and other members of the research team to discuss progress on either a monthly or bi-weekly basis.
Assists the PI with regular reports on data collection/management activities.
Keeps current data collection and locating protocols up-to-date.
Assists the PI with training new data coordinators/collectors on the computer-based CSAT Evaluation Data Entry System ( CEDES ).
Provides technical assistance to new data coordinators/collectors.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Attends national and local meetings related to project activities.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
The Research Assistant reports to Principal Investigator. This position regulary interacts with the funding agency and project participants.
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and 1 year of experience related to the duties above. Must be able to work independently and act at their own discretion. Basic proficiency in the use of database software.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge and experience with research and data collection, particularly with computer-based data collection.
The individual will have an office at the assigned County Drug Court. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks. No or very limited physical effort required.
