DESCRIPTION

Research Assistant will provide support for neuroimaging studies of children and adults with Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder.

DUTIES

Primary responsibilities will include assistance with the execution of and adherence to the research protocol. Specific duties will consist of the following: contacting research participants and scheduling appointments, preparing for study visits, obtaining informed consent, administering questionnaires, conducting interviews, gathering data, maintaining patient confidentiality, completing research and institutional review board (IRB) forms appropriately, and performing additional related duties as assigned. Responsibilities related to neuroimaging will include screening potential participants for study eligibility, scheduling and preparing subjects for MRI scanning, administering neuropsychological tests, assisting with data transfer and databasing. Other required duties will be processing subject payments, taking minutes at staff meetings, and light study-related administrative work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in behavioral science (e.g., psychology) and at least 2 years of related experience or equivalent in education training and experience. The applicant must be available during evening and weekend hours.

Additional Qualifications:
Close attention to detail as well as solid communications skills are required. Ability to prioritize, work independently and as a team member, exercise sound judgment and discretion, maintain a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

This position involves regular and substantial contact with children. The successful candidate will be screened through the New York State Central Child Abuse Register prior to assuming any duties that will involve contact with children. There is a $25.00 fee for this service which must be paid by the successful candidate.
