The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is the leading education research company in the nation providing a continuum of education research, assessment, technical assistance and policy analysis from the school level up to the national and international levels. Our programs apply science to address real world issues on behalf of clients that include federal and state agencies, international development agencies, leading foundations, school districts and private businesses and our experts are a frequent source of information and guidance for policymakers, clients and the news media. We are currently seeking a Research Assistant for our Education, Human Development and the Workforce Program in our San Mateo, CA office.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for supporting data collection and analysis efforts, reviewing literature and assisting in report writing. The position will require the ability to organize raw data, enter and verify accuracy of data, document data coding procedures, produce basic statistical analyses, and support implementation of education-related applied research.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, Sociology, or a related social sciences field. An outstanding academic record, excellent writing, and proficiency within a Windows environment required. The successful candidate will be familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methods and basic data analysis using Stata or SAS, be comfortable reviewing data and producing results in a variety of table and chart formats, possess effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and have an interest in education research.
