Reports to Principal Investigator, Vertebrate Biology Laboratory. Responsibilities may include, depending on funding source, conducting histology or immunohistochemistry experiments, assistance in CT scan analysis, assist in preparation of fossils, and perform routine laboratory tasks and record-keeping under supervision.
Perform histology and immunohistochemistry experiments.
Assist in generating high resolution computed tomography scans.
Analyze computed tomography scans.
Use on-line and other resources to stay current with scientific findings.
Assist in the development of new experimental approaches.
Train laboratory personnel on techniques as necessary.
Maintain laboratory records as needed.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in field related to biology.
Prior experience working in a biology-oriented laboratory is preferred.
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Ability to perform effectively, to accommodate variable workloads, and to prioritize tasks.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
Knowledge of basic biology.
