BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for San Diego's Scientific community. We are currently looking for a Research Associate/Sr. RA to work for a leading San Diego biotechnology company.

Research Associate/Sr. RA

Responsible in organizing and maintaining a high quality normal and tumor cell bank. Manage cell biology laboratory and tissue culture facility.

Organize and manage cell bank.

Perform research and/or development in collaboration with others in mammalian cell-based assays including cell proliferation assays, chemo sensitivity assays, chemo resistant assays, adhesion, invasion, and 2D/3D colony forming assays.

Perform IF and microscopic image/data collection and complete morphometric analysis using appropriate software (e.g. Photoshop, Image-Pro).

Prepare experimental protocols and draft assay development reports.

Organize, summarize and interpret data from the experiments and provide insight on the data.

Provide cells for in vivo studies/experiments.

Perform assay, ELISA and immunoblotting analysis.

Engineer cells for gene overexpression and inhibition.

Perform cell proliferation and toxicity assays.

Perform assay, Western Blotting and IF labeling.

Write SOPs, protocols and reports.

Prepare and maintain laboratory notebooks and/or computer files.

Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Requires a minimum of a BS degree with 3-5 years or MS with minimum of 1-2 years related experience.

Must have in vitro tissue culture experience (better with cell bank organization ability)

Must have cell biology and biochemistry assay experience, with data processing, recording, organization, summarizing and planning ability

Have ability to engineer mammalian cells using plasmid transfection and/or virus infection, and conduct follow up cell characterization experiments

Have ability to conduct independent work in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, and also work in a team-based project-oriented working environment

Not required, but nice to have in vivo animal study experience (i.e. oncology)
