The American Institutes for Research (AIR)’s International Development Program seeks to enhance the capacity of developing countries to improve their quality of life through education and social development and has worked in collaboration with partners in more than 80 countries.
We are currently seeking a Research Associate for our International Development, Evaluation and Research Program in our Washington, D.C. (Georgetown) office.
•Collects, compiles, validates, interprets, and analyzes data and trends using standard practices and techniques.
•Performs computer modeling or simulation or simple to moderately complex forecasting using standard software packages.
•Applies quantitative analysis techniques and methods.
•Works on moderately complex assignments under indirect supervision.
•Communicates project support needs and requests to senior management and clientele, provides administrative support where applicable.
•Conducts literature reviews and writes sections of proposals and deliverables.
•Responsible for maintaining and checking the accuracy of data for assigned projects.
•Utilizes external resources to supplement, organize, and contribute to tasks and projects.
•Participate in business development activities
•Leads and organizes content for focus groups and project meetings.
•Contribute to new methods development and problem solving.
•Master's degree in Economics, Statistics or related field.
•Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work independently on detailed assignments.
•Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software required (MySQL preferred).
•Experience with at least one programming language is required (Python preferred)
•Experience with SPSS/SAS/STATA/R or other survey research required (STATA preferred).
•Some international experience working in the developing country context preferred
