Our client, an exciting biotechnology company, seeks a highly-motivated Research Associate (RA) with a focus in process optimization of mammalian cell culture. The individual will work closely with different groups to develop robust mammalian cell culture processes. The individual's primary responsibility will be the evaluation of the impact of process changes on mammalian cells and final product output. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the teams to assist in the further development new processes for the formation of tissues.
Specific responsibilities will include:
? Develop and optimize processes for expansion and usage of primary human cells:
o Robust large-scale growth processes including evaluation of large format cultureware
o Process improvement of cell cryopreservation techniques
o Perform assays to characterize cells including, cell phenotype, secretome, metabolic, and molecular.
? Assist in developing processes for closed manufacturing of final cell based products.
? Analyze data and present work both to internal and external customers.
? Write protocols and reports to support process changes.
? Technology transfer to core manufacturing group through document control and on-hand training.
? Prepare SOPs and Batch Records that enable transfer of validated protocols into project teams.
? Actively participate with Engineering, Tissue Applications and Therapeutic teams for continued process improvement of core technology.
The successful candidate must have a BS in Bioengineering, Biochemical Engineering or a related field with 1+ years of practical experience in mammalian cell culture in a commercial setting. He/She must have references that confirm superior organizational skills with great attention to details, the ability to multi-task and remain focused to deliver high-quality results on time. The successful candidate will adjust rapidly to shifting priorities and variable workloads and will be able to work flexibly to accommodate project deadlines. Outstanding candidates will have opportunities for cross-training in other specialized techniques related to the generation and analysis of tissue.
