Purpose & Scope of Position: The Applied Molecular Biology Department is seeking a highly motivated scientist to support antibody engineering efforts.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Antibody sequencing and comparative analysis of rearrangement and somatic hypermutations
- Design and execution of structure-based antibody engineering for improved antibody properties
- Hands-on application of antibody engineering using in vitro phage display system
- Work both independently and in collaboration with therapeutic functional area to advance Agensys programs
- Present scientific research findings to cross-functional teams
The successful candidate will have a degree in molecular biology, antibody/protein engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience, preferably in industry. The position requires scientific and technical proficiency in molecular cloning, expression vector engineering, as well as knowledge in antibody structure and function, familiarity with antibody engineering methods applications, and hands-on experience in antibody phage display. The ideal candidate must be proficient in protein randomization methods and large randomized library generation. Experience with automation and high throughput screening is a plus.
The candidate must be highly motivated, have excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
