The Research Coordinator will work closely with various clinical staff members and researchers at the University of Kansas (KU) Hospital and KU Medical Center (KUMC) to collectively complete research study protocols. The Research Coordinator will develop methods to efficiently identify and recruit potential study patients referred to Radiology from various departments for diagnostic testing and procedures that meet study protocols. The Research Coordinator will obtain subject consent in accordance with IRB requirements and complete all necessary documentation and follow-up appointments/procedures per study protocol. The Research Coordinator will be required to actively promote enrollment in clinical studies, serve as the primary contact for these studies, and attend various research meetings, as needed.

Required Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's degree in a basic science or health-related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year-by-year basis. Excellent organization, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills. Proficient knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, workflow, and presentation software. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including patients, families, physicians, and administrative staff with varying levels of education and knowledge of health care practices.

Preferred Qualifications
Two to five years previous experience with clinical research coordination and management. Experience with electronic medical records and current CCRP, ACRP, or SoCRA certification. Data management experience with REDCap, CRIS, Access, or other electronic data capture systems. Marketing experience to communicate, educate, recruit, and advertise to study subjects and other professional staff within KU Hospital and KUMC.

Assist in the administration of clinical research studies by coordinating and participating in a variety of complex activities involved in the collection, compilation, documentation and analysis of clinical research data.

Provide ongoing training to clinical staff regarding active research study protocols. Work with KU Research Institute and other departments to review, assess feasibility, and assist with the development of research protocols, including evaluating patient populations, and estimating budget, personnel, and equipment requirements. Assure compliance with all relevant IRB and other regulatory agency requirements. Maintain HIPAA compliance per KU Hospital and KUMC institutional policies.
