Political Research Associates ( ) is a social justice think tank that tracks and analyzes right-wing groups and campaigns on behalf of social justice groups and movements. Our work is strategic, timely – and used by organizers and advocates, journalists, academics, and policy makers to inform their work and advance social justice. PRA's work makes critical contributions to allies working on such issues as immigrant and racial justice, LGBTQ rights, reproductive justice, economic justice, and civil liberties. We collaborate with visionary social justice leaders behind the scenes, and publicly confront our collective opponents with hard-hitting investigations and communications campaigns. We produce a quarterly magazine, The Public Eye, and investigative reports on topics including the U.S. Christian Right exporting antigay ideology to Africa,the campaign to undermine marriage equality and healthcare reform by redefining "religious liberty," and defending reproductive justice against right-wing assaults.

Political Research Associates' seeks a Program Coordinator with strong editorial skills to coordinate print and web production to ensure the smooth operation of the team and regular communication of its research. This position reports jointly to the Research Director and the Communications Director.

S/he participates in research team meetings; contributes to research planning, including maintaining a production calendar covering research, editorial, development, and communications; manages the mailing lists and subscriptions; provides research support; proofreads and fact-checks reports her/himself and by overseeing interns; manages production for reports, magazine, and other editorial output, includingsecuring photos, writing cutlines and callouts;liaisoning with layout and printer; and supporting communications. The position also provides editorial support to the Editor in Chief as needed. Web duties may include coordinating the team's web output, light editing, securing graphics, contributing short blog posts, and posting features. May also work with Research, Communications, and Development team to organize constituents and reach out to advocates and allies via online organizing and social media.

The position also oversees the intern program. Hiring interns and assigning them to staff, training new interns in fact-checking and proofing, providing direct oversight so researchers and program staff receive the support they need, and ensuring interns receive training and supervision for a successful experience.

Skills needed: Attention to detail, strong writing, proofreading, and copyediting skills are a must. Prior research and/or journalist experience preferred. The ideal candidate will be an attentive manager; organized; able to juggle projects and meet tough deadlines; a team player; creative problem solver; reliable; and aligned with PRA's mission, values, and goals in support of advancing social justice. Familiarity with WordPress, Access, and InDesign a plus.

Compensation & Hours: This is a full-time salaried position with hours worked in PRA's Somerville, Massachusetts office. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes full health and dental benefits, vacation, and retirement contribution.
