Typical Job Functions: Develop indexes to be used for both benchmarking and third party product creation based upon multiple asset classes from both client driven requests and original concepts. Prepare and present standard and customized research reports including index back-tests, comparative index and product performance analysis, Fact Sheets, and other research reports or presentations. Analyze and interpret a wide range of financial and statistical data from a variety of vendor and internal databases for projects and presentations to issuers and to institutional and retail investors. Work with Global Sales on client initiation, development, and ongoing support of benchmarking and product licensing businesses through generation of original product and support of existing indexes. Contribute to overall GIG development effort with tactical analysis of industry trends and understanding of complex financial markets to generate leading edge research content in support of both new and existing indexes. Support operational areas within GIG including creation of index methodologies, index administration, technical specification documents, marketing material, and data management. Requirements: Five+ years of work experience in related industries such as exchange-traded products, indexes, investment banking, trading, or financial product development. BA/BS with advanced coursework in economics or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Coursework in statistics, mathematics, finance, and economics desirable. Expert quantitative skills, including data analysis using spreadsheets and statistical packages (such as R or SAS, SQL) and other programming skills highly desirable. Very effective communication skills, both verbal and written Track record of working successfully both independently and with a team Highly motivated with evidence of intellectual curiosity and creativity Well organized, proactive, and able to complete multiple projects at once. Ability to respond productively and enthusiastically to a heavy workload and tight deadlines Willingness to travel as required. This is a regular full time position located in New York or Rockville MD.
