Reporting to the Lab Director, the Researcher Engineer is responsible for the design, execution and implementation of projects in support of the operations of the Gypsum Panel Laboratory. He/she will also work closely with other senior researchers and technologists to support existing business as well as develop new products and platforms in areas of formulation and process improvements. Skills and experience in cross-functional team environments are desired.

Familiar with high throughput industrial manufacturing processes
Performing laboratory experiments to optimize or develop new formulations for gypsum and paper technologies;
Conducting evaluations of plant material from trials and qualifications;
Planning and supporting the scale up of laboratory work to plant through trials;
Conducting process development experiments to scale in a laboratory;
Reviewing existing data (also lab analysis) to see if more research and information need to be collated;
Assessing the availability of raw materials and the safety and environmental impact;
Supporting the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations;
Assessing processes for their relevance, and assessing the emerging new processing technologies;
Preparing reports, flow diagrams and charts, and communicating these as necessary;
Writes or assists in writing and submission of patent applications.
B.S./ M.S. degree in
engineering or similar disciplines
3 ~ 5 years industrial experience in manufacturing support and new product / technology development
Strong problem-solving skills and proven project management skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
Statistical data analysis and experimental design skills preferred
