Position Overview We are seeking an experienced research practitioner with strong qualitative and project management skills. The Research Manager will be responsible for high performance projects deploying Halverson Group ’s cutting edge technologies, processes and resources to address a broad spectrum of client needs in the retail, service and marketing domains. The Research Manager will play a key role in managing projects from proposal to delivery to ensure that we meet our high internal and client standards.

Research Managers are “hands-on ” in the data collection process and are responsible for co-developing high-impact deliverables for our clients. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in research methodologies and have applied/consulting experience, knowledge of consumer behavior and the retail marketplace, as well as the desire to take on a larger leadership role as the practice and firm grows. Principal Accountabilities • Participate in research activities for client projects, on time and within budget to a high level of quality • Support Research Directors to establish project objectives, proposals, projections and budgets • Write research protocols (e.g., surveys, interviews, intercepts) • Prepare for and manage day-to-day field research and data collection efforts • Conduct shop alongs, customer intercepts and ethnographic interviews • Observe and record the activities of consumers and employees in retail settings • Serve as the fieldwork point of contact with clients • Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative analysis and present synthesized results and recommendations to Project Director and team • Conduct rigorous QA on methods, data and analytics to ensure that quality standards are met • Collaborate in synthesis, reporting and development of client deliverables • Proactively look for and communicate ways to improve work flows, techniques, and deliverables to enhance the practice • Provides coaching and performance feedback to practice area Associates and Analysts to help them develop their performance and skills Position Requirements • Bachelor ’s degree in Marketing or related field • 5+ years of experience in the Consumer Insights, Market Research or Strategy industries with progressive leadership responsibilities • 3+ years of experience consulting in a professional services environment • Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies • Comfort working with or learning cutting edge research technologies • Highly motivated, self-directed " possess a driven personality capable of working within tight deadlines • Superior organizational skills, unflagging attention to detail " demonstrated commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information • Excellent written " verbal communication skills in addition to well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills are necessary • Willingness to travel (50%+)
