Under minimal supervision, is responsible enlisting and maintaining patients on research protocol regimes. Assists with determining eligibility of patients for clinical trials, presenting trial concepts and details to patients, providing education for staff and patients, and ensuring proper treatment for and assuming responsibility for clinical documentation for patients on protocol.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, hematology and oncology.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Familiar with database programs and data entry.
Ability to work independently, set own pace and follow-up on details.
Ability to solve problems and deal with variety of situations.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as protocols, informed consents and regulatory documentation.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in state of practice.
ScCRA or ACP certification desired.
OCN certification desired.
Education, training, experience:
Graduate from an accredited program for nursing education. Minimum four (4) years nursing experience, preferably in oncology with recent chemotherapy administration and research data management experience. EOE
