Responsibilities: The Research Nurse Manager provides leadership, strategic direction, and staff management for the Clinical Affairs Section within the Data Management Unit at the Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research and Prevention (SCHARP)The incumbent represents the Clinical Affairs section within the Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research and Prevention (SCHARP) management structure, defining the vision, scope, and role of clinical data monitoring. S/he provides direct management and supervision of the Clinical Data Specialists and Clinical Coders. This includes all aspects of personnel, training, and workload management. S/he utilizes independent judgment in performance of all management tasks, working to ensure that SCHARP policies and practices are implemented appropriately across all studies. The incumbent guarantees high integrity of the clinical data for clinical safety monitors and study sponsors, and works with other SCHARP staff to identify and implement new efficiencies and technologies to support clinical data monitoring. The incumbent leads the section with demonstrated team-building skills and experience with collaboration between multiple internal groups and external partners. S/he creates and actively manages a cohesive, positive, high performing, and efficient work team and environment. In addition, s/he functions as the subject data expert on clinical data monitoring processes, including development of and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Practice Guidelines (WPGs).The Research Nurse Manager reports to the Head of the Data Management Unit.
