Job Descriptions:
Manage the day-to-day planning, coordination, and implementation of activities for external and internal projects related to the development of cognitively based assessments and foundational research for English Language Arts learning and assessment. The Research Project Manager, with guidance from senior staff, will ensure that project goals are achieved, and that budgets and timelines are met. The Research Project Manager will also collaborate with researchers in preparing proposals, reports and study results for publication or presentation.
Project Design and Development
Regularly communicate with project leaders as well as research initiative staff, to plan, manage and implement content development of internal and external projects.
Develop master schedules, oversee the documentation of tasks, and oversee and monitor effective accomplishment of project work activities.
Routinely update the project and initiative leaders on project activities, client and partner contacts, new opportunities, potential and existing problems, and budget status.
Research, prepare and document analyses and summary reports.
Prepare and present reports to committees, advisory boards and clients.
Prepare research, test development, data analysis, systems, and operations specifications.
Develop and implement policies and procedures in concert with project and initiative leaders to meet client specifications.
Assist in the preparation, review and submission of research initiatives and external proposals.
Anticipate and communicate problems to senior staff and suggest alternate solutions as necessary.
Serve as technical resource to internal and external clients and project/initiative leaders.
Maintain contact with clients, informing them of progress and problems and propose solutions.
Assist in negotiating and defining scope of work, contract specifications, budget and terms with clients.
Professional Responsibilities
Represent ETS when dealing with national and international clients, government officials, and other external agencies.
Work with committee, consortium and advisory board members and advise on measurement and operational issues.
Participate in professional meetings, including making presentations about the scientific work of the project and initiatives, providing ETS with national and international visibility.
Budget and Personnel Management
Develop cost estimates for research projects and proposals. Assist in the monitoring of budgets for external projects and the research initiatives.
Support managing area budgets by monitoring the research initiative and project staffing assignments.

Required Experience:
EDUCATION
A Master's degree is required.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of experience are required, providing evidence of knowledge in educational measurement and research.
