A Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field and two years of research experience; OR a Master's degree in the appropriate field and one year of research experience.
A Master's degree and two years of laboratory experience in molecular genetics or molecular biology, or a Ph.D. degree with corresponding research experience. Experience in DNA/RNA purification, amplification, and DNA sequencing. Experience with DNA sequence analysis software.
The incumbent will participate in next-generation sequencing projects in a research support facility. Duties include: preparation of samples for DNA sequencing; operating DNA sequencers and related equipment; use of bioinformatics software packages for sequence analysis; management of work flow, including service requests and data deposition; and routine laboratory management activities such as maintaining inventory and purchasing. Other related duties as assigned.
