DESCRIPTION

We are seeking to fill a Research Scientist II position, preferably a PhD level candidate, to be involved in an international suicide prevention public health initiative.

The Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) has been implemented top-down across numerous states, and national implementation efforts across many aspects of the military, and international agencies. Commissioned by the FDA to develop improved methods of suicide assessment, the Center continues to work with the CDC, NIH, the US Department of Education, all divisions of the US military, as well as international military and healthcare bodies.

DUTIES

The incumbent will work on public health dissemination, assisting in international and state implementation/policy efforts and training and assist with writing manuscripts and aid in the supervision of other center employees.

The Center is also at the forefront of risk communication and drug safety and publishes on the risks, benefits, and public health implications encompassed by drug safety controversies. The incumbent may help to serve as a liason between the PI and media outlets.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. preferred in psychology, public health or related field.
Applicant must be very meticulous and detail oriented, and be able to work flexible hours as needed. Applicant must have excellent writing and data analytic skills. Some travel may be required.
