The Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research (GESTAR) of Universities Space Research Association (USRA) has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher. This is a one-year term appointment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct research on cloud structure and its effects on the radiation budget as inferred from combined measurements of A-Train (CERES, MODIS, CloudSat, and CALIPSO).
Apply findings to GEOS-5 Atmospheric General Circulation Model.
Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
M.S. or PhD in atmospheric sciences or geosciences
Experience analyzing satellite data from the NASA Earth Observing System instruments and/or atmospheric modeling (cloud-scale, mesoscale, global scale)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Note: This is a one-year term appointment.
