Job responsibilities include:
  • Device new models, algorithms, designs for
crowd-sourcing, social-computing systems and media forums to improve quality,
efficiency and user engagement.

understand business needs and
current production system and draw upon the latest thinking in economics,
mechanism design, social science to help architects, designers and
engineers build systems based on sound scientific principles

work closely with product and
engineering teams to realize models and algorithms in production-ready
systems

stay current on published
state-of-the-art algorithms and competing technologies

maintain world-class academic
credentials through publications, presentations, external collaborations
and service to the research community

Required Skills/Experience:
Ph.D.
in Computer Science, Economics or related area. Economics
majors should have a strong computational focus along with the ability to
source and analyze large volumes of data.

Strong
mathematical and computational modeling skills, ability to design and
execute experiments (online, lab) and draw conclusions.

Ability
to generate interesting research questions, design and execute research
independently.

Strong
communication skills both written and oral. This role is expected to
articulate and gain acceptance of proposals.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Hands-on orientation and implementation
skills

2-3 years of experience in
applying theory to practical problems, strong entry-level candidates will
also be considered

Interest in online advertising,
publishing, content generation, etc is desired.
