ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company is seeking Research Specialists for their Houston, Texas facility to develop and test new reservoir modeling and simulation software. Position will use simulation techniques to analyze various multiphase flow problems and apply them to reservoir field development problems. Develop detailed theoretical mathematical models of fluid and rock behavior, and conduct reservoir engineering studies using simulation models validated against the field and laboratory data. Innovate and evaluate novel ideas for improved recovery processes in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Develop and deliver training on reservoir fluid property characterization, reservoir simulation, and other reservoir engineering curricula.
Position requires a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or Energy Resources Engineering or completion of all degree requirements for a Ph.D. and one year of experience in analytical modeling and computer simulation for multiphase flow and complex fluid dynamics. Qualified candidates will possess experience in numerical modeling of fluid dynamics, transport modeling, and computational methods. Position also requires experience with finite element method and analysis, experimental methods, optimization, computer programming, and reservoir geology. Experience may be gained prior to Ph.D. conferral.
