DESCRIPTION

Research and Executive Assistant to CEO

ABOUT VIRTUS REAL ESTATE:
The Virtus real estate team is composed of a seasoned group of professionals who bring together an extensive array of skills and experience. Members of the team have worked together for a number of years and have honed an approach to real estate investing that places an emphasis on downside protection as well as upside potential.

DUTIES

  • Research new investment concepts
  • Support CEO in business development activities
  • Manage CEO and firm's social media profiles
  • Manage complex Outlook calendar requiring proactive updates and rescheduling
  • Handle incoming and outgoing electronic communications on behalf of CEO
  • Schedule meetings, conferences and appointments
  • Make informed decisions regarding CEO's available time to prioritize requests
  • Follow up on outstanding issues, identify solutions, and obtain necessary information to complete assignments
  • Monitor critical issues for CEO and escalate as appropriate
  • Proactively learning both internally and from external resources the organization strategy and tactics in order to seek out and take on responsibilities and duties of CEO that can be handled by REA
  • Screen incoming calls and email to determine priority and respond appropriately
  • Generate reports and presentations for management meetings
  • Organize corporate functions and off site events
  • Make travel arrangements and create itineraries
  • Serve as media point of contact for the company and organize photo shoots and interviews
  • Manage and organize personal finances, household and philanthropic activities as needed
  • General errands, personal or business as required
  • Interface with members of the management team to improve communication and keep CEO up to date on office issues
  • Oversee all facilities needs for CEO including phone systems, servers, storage options, etc. Evaluate upgrades and changes needed as the organization grows.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in business or economics from a Tier 1 university; concentration in real estate or finance preferred and graduate degree strongly preferred
  • Experience with Commercial Real Estate, Finance or Investment firm highly desirable
  • Experience supporting executives is highly desirable but not required to apply
  • Strong technical skills required in MS Office Suite, general research tools and social media applications
  • Self-initiative and self-sufficiency are keys to being successful in this position
  • Must be proactive to identify tasks and solve problems with little or no supervision once guidelines have been established
  • Professional demeanor and superior oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills are critical for interacting with employees, management, investors and partners
  • Must be assertive, confident and take initiative to assure issues are resolved
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines for multiple projects
  • Excellent organization and follow though skills are needed
  • Must be self-motivated and think quickly with attention to detail
  • Must have flexibility to work beyond normal business hours as needed
