Degree and area of specialization:
Master's degree required, preferably specializing in molecular biology, gene therapy or a related field. PhD is preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
2-5 years of lab experience preferred.
Demonstrated konwledge of molecular biology techniques and gene therapy preferred.

The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation is seeking an individual interested in working in the field of gene therapy. Duties include working in a team, or supervising a team, of one to three technical researchers, designing appropriate research approaches and conducting experiments, preparing research manuscripts and grants for funding opportunities, and also working in a larger group on research projects aimed at a possible cure for diabetes utilizing gene
therapy. The incumbent will conduct research and prepare results for publication and presentation at conferences. The ideal candidate will also have experience in using small animals in research projects.
