The Residence Hall Director is responsible for the overall administration of a coeducational residence community of 150-500 undergraduates, including staff supervision, discipline, counseling/referral, programming and general building administration.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting salary of $31,791. All RHDs receive a furnished apartment, partial meal plan of $500 for the year and the college benefits package. Starting date is around January 7, 2013 for the spring semester and August 1, 2013 for the full academic year.
Major Responsibilities and/or Classes to be taught
-Overall administration of a coeducational residence community
-Student staff supervision and discipline
-Provide guidance, support and advocacy and referrals to appropriate offices as necessary
-Oversight of programming and general building administration
-Coordination of one other area of the residence life program, including the Residence Life Conference, student staff recruitment, student/professional staff development, housing administration, student conduct or multicultural life
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
Residence Hall Directors report directly to the Associate Directors and the Director of Residence Life and Housing. Residence Hall Directors supervise a student staff that consists of resident assistants, an administrative assistant and an academic peer mentor.
-Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
-Previous residence life experience
-Minimum of one year post baccalaureate residence life experience (graduate or professional)
-Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
