Mentor, OH - 2nd (3pm-11:30pm) & 3rd (11pm-7:30am) Shift
Our Caregivers assist residents with all activities of daily living. This includes, but is not limited to, assistance with mobility, toileting, eating, bathing, etc. Caring for persons with Alzheimer's/dementia requires special skills, as residents lose the ability to communicate and comprehend verbally. Our most successful Caregivers are individuals who:
*Genuinely enjoy helping others in need
*Are able to remain flexible, patient and relaxed during challenging interactions with residents and resident family members
*Determine which need a resident is trying to fulfill with their behavior, accommodating this behavior without controlling it
*Demonstrate a commitment to punctuality and regular attendance on the premises during scheduled shifts and work hours
*Adapt communication techniques (particularly non-verbal) to engage and assist residents
*Thrive in a team environment while having a strong sense of personal responsibility for their own work
Physical requirements: Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds, bending or kneeling for up to 15 consecutive minutes, working 3-3.75 hours standing, walking and moving about without the need to sit down, and working with cleaning chemicals.

If you are offered a position at Kemper House, you will be required to have a physical exam, a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test prior to starting employment with us. The cost of these tests, which we administer and pay for, is 65 dollars. If you leave employment at Kemper House for any reason prior to the end of the introductory period, the entire amount will be deducted from your last paycheck.
Because we provide services to older adults, a criminal record check will be done. Sealed criminal records should be reported here as they will be reported on the criminal record check. Disqualifying convictions under Ohio law will lead to termination or revocation of an offer of employment. A criminal conviction will not necessarily bar you from employment.

I agree that a photocopy of this authorization shall have the same authority as the original.
I certify that the information provided in this application is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that falsification, misrepresentation or omission of facts in the application or during any oral interview will disqualify me from further consideration or, if I am hired, will be sufficient cause for my immediate dismissal. I understand that any employment offer made to me is contingent upon reference and criminal record checks.
I understand that agreement to resolve all disputes or claims related to my employment through the facility's Employee Grievance Procedure is a condition of employment at Kemper House. By signing and submitting this application for employment, I acknowledge and agree, in the event of my hire, to resolve all disputes or claims relating to my employment, including legal claims of unlawful employment, discrimination or wrongful discharge, but excluding claims for workers’ compensation or unemployment compensation benefits, through the Employee Grievance Procedure. I further agree to waive any right to seek resolution of such disputes or claims in any other form until dispute has reached final resolution in the facility's Employee Grievance Procedure process.
This application for at-will employment shall be considered for a period of time not to exceed 90 days. Any applicant wishing to be considered for at-will employment beyond this period should inquire as to whether or not applications are being accepted at that time, or if the application is still on file.
