Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Resident Director. The Resident Director will assist in the oversight of all aspects of the College's Residence Life Program, including staffing, supervising and training of paraprofessional staff members, evaluation and enforcement of policies and procedures, housing registration, disbursement and collection of keys/access cards and any other responsibilities related to student housing, both on and off campus. The College currently has over 740 resident students living in various types of on-campus housing.
Reporting to the Coordinator of Residence Life, the Resident Director will be involved in various aspects of student life in their residence hall and throughout campus. The Resident Director will work closely with the College’s Physical Plant and Public Safety Offices and will be a part of the College’s Division of Campus Life. Successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills in addition to demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
Bachelor’s degree and previous work experience in a residence life/housing facility at a college or university is required; Master’s degree in higher education preferred. Some evening and weekend work is required, as is participation in a weekly on-call rotation. This is a twelve-month, live-in position which offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. As part of the total compensation package incumbents will receive a one bedroom apartment, furnished upon request, on-site with utilities including, cable television, high speed internet access and local telephone.
