I. POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Visitation and Exchange Center. Protects children from experiencing conflict between parents during visitation or exchanges. Provides a supervised visitation program that can be accessed by the courts, SRS and contracting agencies. Provides auxiliary services upon request. Performs the following duties directly.
II. NATURE AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Provides a safe environment for children during supervised visitation or exchanges with non-residential parent.
Assists management in developing, tracking and analyzing program outcomes to continually improve program services.
Records in observation notes factual information relevant to the child’s welfare at the commencement and conclusion of each supervised exchange or visitation.
Testifies when required to do so by subpoena.
Ensures appropriate measures are taken to protect the safety and security of the child and Agency employees/property.
Provides appropriate referrals for parent education classes, therapeutic supervision and family counseling, upon request.
Maintains a close working relationship with public and private agencies involved in providing services/support to children.
Conducts one-on-one assessment of parents and children as to the appropriateness of the program for potential clients prior to providing services.
Accomplishes facility tour and orientation for children and parents during the first visit to the center.
Maintains accuracy and confidentiality of client files.
Meets with supervisor on a regular basis to discuss the status of various cases and to formulate/implement plans and decisions.
Intervenes during and/or terminates a visitation/exchange when in the best interest of the child.
Will be required to drive personal or agency vehicle while transporting children or conducting agency business. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must meet agency underwriting standards while driving agency vehicles and/or transporting clients.
Refrains from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
Advocates, promotes and practices cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all day-to-day interactions.
Develops, promotes and practices teamwork in all activities.
Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development or Human Services preferred. High School/G.E.D. diploma required.
