Under the general supervision of the manager, the respiratory care practitioners (CRT) (RRT) administers respiratory care to patients, collects data relevant to pulmonary patient care and initiates appropriate respiratory care protocols. Supervises pulmonary function studies, actively participates in planning and implementation of patient and staff education modules and coordinates department operations in the absence of the coordinator. Delivers, records and documents all pertinent information on respiratory care rendered.
Must be a Certified and/or Registered Respiratory Therapist and BCLS certified. Must possess a Michigan License. One year experience as a CRT or RRT preferred. Basic math, good communication, writing and computer skills necessary. Demonstrates good rapport and cooperative working relationship with all associates, patients, physicians, patient families and visitors. Inspires confidence from patients, co-workers, and visitors by consistently performing and communicating in a highly professional manner. Intervenes appropriately to provide adequate ventilation and oxygenation to ventilator dependent patients experiencing events incompatible with life. Must have physical dexterity to climb stairs and ability to lift and/or carry 0-60 lbs. including respiratory equipment and patients.
