In The Beginning : In 1983, six fun-loving businessmen with no experience in the restaurant industry, opened a Clearwater, FL joint with girls in orange shorts, chicken wings as the feature item, and an owl in the logo.
What is Hooters : A casual, beach-theme restaurant known for the Hooters Girls - the surfer girl next door. Hooters serves seafood, burgers, sandwiches and "nearly world famous" chicken wings. Hooters Girls hula-hooping and singing; open kitchen with boisterous cooks; music playing from the jukebox; and sports on
television. Hooters describes itself as "delightfully tacky, yet
unrefined.
The first Hooters opened October 4, 1983, in Clearwater, Florida. Hooters has continued to rank high amongst the industry's growth leaders. Hooters has proven successful in small-town America,
major metropolitan areas and internationally.
Hooters of America, LLC is the Atlanta-based operator and franchiser of over 426 Hooters locations in 44 states in the US, Aruba, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, England, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala,
Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Panama, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan and the Virgin Islands. The privately held corporation owns 160 units.
Hooters believes in giving back and being an integrate part of the community. Since 1992, the Hooters Community Endowment
Fund has raised over $8 million for local and national organizations, such as the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research, Special Olympics, Make-A-wish Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association and Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to attract, hire and retain employees
Ability to energize and motivate
Ability to work with staff in such a manner as to build high morale
and group commitment to goals and objectives.
Ability to influence the actions and opinions of staff in a desired
direction
Hotel/Restaurant, Culinary experience, Food and Beverage, Kitchen
Management or 2 year management experience in related
industry.
