DESCRIPTION

Provides quality service to all restaurant guests. Provides efficient and friendly food and beverage service in the Fairview Restaurant

DUTIES

DUTIES: 1. Must be neat in appearance and wear the specified uniform.2. Must be dependable and punctual.3. Must be organized.4. Completes all opening and closing duties as outlined in specifications.5. Services guest needs as required and outlined in guest service scenario.6. Refers communication, guest feedback, and any potential or real guest dissatisfaction to the Manager.7. Ensures the cleanliness of area at all times.8. Must be able to handle money and follow approved cashiering procedures.9. Must be able to work as a team member.10. Must have initiative and be self-directed.11. Must have clean working habits and personal hygiene.12. Must maintain compliance of all Corporate, hotel and department standards, procedures and specifications.13. Assists in greeting and seating the guest as necessary.14. Assists in the removal of extra place settings, and the removal of soiled china, glassware and silverware during guest service.15. Resets clean china, glassware and silverware during guest service.16. Carries out wine service standards.17. Bids farewell to guests upon guest departure.18. Writes guests checks to prescribed specifications and uses a computerized machine to precheck items.19. Demonstrates the appropriate upselling techniques.20. Follows sanitation guidelines as specified by the local Public Health Department.21. Supports and participates in the hotel recycling program.22. Performs other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of experience as a wait with one year in a fine dining establishment. Must have friendly personality, be self-motivated, well-groomed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting 35 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 15 pounds. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.MATH SKILLS: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: Add, subtract, multiply and divide. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have developed English language skills to the point to be able to: Communicate effectively (both written and orally) with other employees, guests or vendors as needed. Must be able to read and comprehend written information.RELATIONSHIPS TO DATA, PEOPLE AND THINGS: DATA: Coordination: Determination of time, place, and sequence of operations or actions to be taken on the basis of analysis of data, as well as executing determination and/or reporting on events.PEOPLE: Determining or interpreting work procedures while maintaining harmonious relations and promoting efficiency. A variety of responsibilities is involved in this function.THINGS: Handling: Using body members, hand tools, and/or special devices to work, move, or carry objects or materials. Involves little or no latitude for judgement with regard to attainment of standards or in selecting appropriate tool, object or material.SPECIFIC VOCATIONAL PREPARATION: NATO DO THIS JOB, YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES BEFORE BEING HIRED: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.NOTE: This hotel operates seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. I am aware that at times it will be necessary to move me from my accustomed shift if business demands. I also understand that business determines the amount of hours I work.
