The IKEA FOOD Commercial Restaurant Team Leader is responsible for managing, directing and supervising the co-workers in their department as well as the total IKEA FOOD business during shift coverage, ensuring the commerciality that will secure IKEA FOOD contributes to IKEA as the best home furnishings company in the local market.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your main tasks will include:  Manage, direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations and activities of the Restaurant, including the dish room, to assist in securing the successful development of the business; including recruitment, retention, scheduling, performance management, succession planning and competence development.  Represent the IKEA brand to co-workers and customers serving as an example of the IKEA values and principles  Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the IKEA FOOD Management Team as well as the U.S. Service Office IKEA FOOD Matrix Partners. This will secure a commercial and operational strategy, for the IKEA FOOD department that meets IKEA FOOD quality, food safety, environmental requirements & other relevant legislation.  Communicate and implement the IKEA FOOD Restaurant range reflecting our priorities, low price profile and unique offer in a commercial way to customers and co-workers  Work with the IKEA FOOD Manager to develop and execute strategy to maximize sales and profit by managing appropriate routines for all communication, from parking area into the IKEA FOOD area showing relevant offers, including the use of 4 faces throughout the day.  Work with IKEA FOOD to develop strategies to fill the restaurant at off-peak times and increase turnover per seat.  Develop efficient maintenance schedule of the Commercial Areas, including the dish room, ensuring they are clean, organized, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience.  Support the implementation of the IKEA FOOD Concept and develop action plans for the Restaurant to support and achieve Business Plan and Commercial goals, including sales generation, profitability, and conversion rate. To also support the business goals and recruitment advertising IPEPerformance review Common functional platform Development plan Learning offer Interview questioning Competence proileRecruitmentadvertisingIPEPerformancereviewCommonfunctionalplatformDevelopmentplanLearningofferInterviewquestioningCompetencerofile objectives, productivity, performance analysis and problem resolution, food and operational cost control, merchandising and maintenance of the IKEA Restaurant.  Ensure IKEA FOOD Brand Standards and Operating Standards meet or exceed expectations to support brand consistency; represent the IKEA FOOD brand to co-workers and customers serving as an example of the IKEA values and principles.  Train and educate co-workers to provide the customer with a positive sales and service experience ensuring Food Safety standards as well as responding to customers in a knowledgeable, friendly, professional manner.  Maintain the Restaurant as in “shape as new”; Food and Range presentation standards are achieved and maintained in all IKEA FOOD departments.  Establish cooperation with the IKEA FOOD Commercial SFM/Bistro Team Leader to enhance the link between the Restaurant and the Swedish Food Market.  Maintain in-depth knowledge of the competition for the Restaurant on the local food market. Identify and communicate sales / product mix opportunities and market trend information to IKEA FOOD Management team and Service Office Matrix partners.  Develop work schedules to ensure adequate coverage by co-workers to meet the demands of the IKEA Restaurant.  Maintain a clean, organized business area while ensuring proper production levels to maximize sales and minimize waste.  Ensure customers are promptly and efficiently served to minimize delays and wait times and increase productivity.  Use sales information, knowledge and available resources to educate co-workers about the Restaurant products, services and alternatives so they are able to meet the customer in the best possible way.  Maintain advanced job knowledge of the Restaurant to perform at a level to meet or exceed the expectations of the customer and IKEA FOOD manager and to serve as a model for your coworkers.  Ensure IKEA FOOD Brand Standards and Food Safety Standards meet or exceed expectations to support brand consistency  Contribute as a member of the IKEA FOOD Team and lead, direct and supervise your co-workers  Ensure customers are promptly and efficiently served to minimize delays and wait times and increase productivity  Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include: • 3- 5 years Food Service or retail experience (preferably in a leadership role) or equivalent IKEA leadership experience including internal training programs • High School diploma or GED required  Demonstrated knowledge of your business area with prior lead or leadership experience, preferably within IKEA  Understanding of professional sales and services procedures  Computer aptitude- including Microsoft applications and internal IKEA systems  Demonstrated knowledge of the retail sales and service environment through prior work experience  Extensive knowledge of the IKEA principles and values and a desire to “live the values”  Knowledge of the IKEA Brand and your business area such that you are a subject matter expert and can build competence in co-workers Capabilities/Motivation:  Responsible for contributing to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers  Fluent in English (written and verbal skills)  Ability to supervise, direct, inspire, develop, performance manage, train, educate and coach coworkers. Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress. Standing for most of the shift.
