JOB SUMMARY:

The Retail Dining Supervisor will be responsible for the following essential job functions:
  • Responsible within assigned area for efficient operation of retail food service, production, and sanitation through the supervision of employees and operations
  • Ensures the integrity of food by ensuring food is prepared properly for adequate quantity, consistent quality (taste and appearance, etc.) and maintained at proper time and temperatures
  • Maintains sanitation levels in all areas to the State Board of Health requirements
  • Supervises all Food and Nutrition staff including Food Service Workers, Porters, Cashiers, Cooks and Diet Clerks- holding the staff to a high level of customer service expectations
  • Recommends hiring, discharging, promotion and transfers
  • Conducts performance evaluations within the assigned area
  • Assists with orientation of all newly hired staff, and formal training of all retail staff, and conducts ongoing training through routine meetings and E-learning
  • Assists management with maintaining time and attendance records
  • Utilizes efficient and proper use of Micros POS System, as well as Computrition’s Nutrition Care Food Management System
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring that all food orders are completed to support retail operations
  • Assists with menu and recipe development in coordination with management and the supervisory team
  • Ensures that menus are updated as appropriate, and always reflect accurate information, including menu items and pricing
  • Assists in the planning, staffing, billing, and complete coordination of catered events for the department as necessary
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring exceptional customer service in retail operations, and providing the most positive guest experience possible
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate’s degree in hospitality, management, or related field
  • In lieu of a degree, completion of high school education or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory capacity in hospitality/customer service will be considered
  • Completion of an accredited Dietary Managers Training Course recommended
  • Must maintain Serve Safe Certification through the National Restaurant Association every five years (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
