Job Title: RETAIL MARKET MANAGER - NortheastDepartment: In Store Program, (Dept. Stores)Reports To: Director, In Store Program Supervises: Eyewear Ambassador (s) & Market Specialist (s)FLSA Status Exempt_____________________________________________________________________________SummaryIn collaboration with the Director, In Store Program, the Retail Market Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining and managing a regional merchandising and selling team that will, within the parameters of the annual In Store Program budget, effectively ensure the timely and strategic sell-through of Luxottica products at retail.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesBUSINESS MANAGEMENT Manages a merchandising budget and allocates resources to assure all business needs are being met (allocates visits by locations based on sales priorities, activities and needs) and reviews monthly hours booked by merchandiser/seller against budget Responsible for meeting sales goals and objectives for Luxottica brands within an assigned territory Monitor MS and EA teams monthly retail sales trend and to plan performance of trend and to plan Effectively communicates and executes in-store strategies, priorities and opportunities within region to maximize sales and profit results - copies Sales Field Develop strong/long term working relationships with department store personnel, focusing on key areas such as visual displays, personal shopping and department management Coordinates in-store sales activities to facilitate sell-through of Luxottica brands at retail; develops and executes in-store promotions and special events to promote and positively influence sales and introduce new products Continuously drive business and uncover opportunities by analyzing financial data (sales to stock and assortment), identifying business and competitive needs Responsible for completing all store re-cap sheets on a weekly basis (to include but not limited to product assortment, store and competitive activities); provides timely completion of other assigned paperwork and reporting requirements Maintains professional standards through appropriate dress and attire, business communication skills and knowledge of market trends in the retail and fashion design industry Actively participates in the recruitment of new Merchandisers and Eyewear Ambassadors for assigned doorsMARKETING MANAGEMENT Ensures prominent placement of Luxottica brands on department store floor, ensuring all product styles are prominently displayed and readily available on the selling floor Responsible for ensuring that merchandising standards are consistently maintained by brand; visual management signing is correct and correctly displayed in accordance with brand agreementsTRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Trains and develops Eyewear Ambassadors, Market Specialists, Merchandisers and/or Department Store personnel; regularly conducts product training introducing new collections and promotions Is knowledgeable of, and keeps current with all Luxottica products, services, promotions, advertising and competitive offers to facilitate sales efforts; maintains awareness of competitors products, promotions and services Continuously assessing and providing feedback on teams strengths, development and growth areas
Knowledge and Skills Passionate, independent and self motivated Strategic, analytical and creative thinker Strong negotiation, customer service and interpersonal skills Must be able to present, coach, motivate in front of a large group Ability to work in a fast paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Demonstrated sales, merchandising and training techniques and strategies Ability to quickly generate and initiate creative solutions to problems as they arise Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to work with DeSPA application (or similar industry specific sales software) Willingness and ability to travel extensively within region Comfortable with digital photographyEducation and Experience Bachelors degree business administration; concentration in merchandising, marketing or sales preferred Multi-unit management experience in Department and Specialty store environment Retail Market Manager - generally requires 5+years experience in retail sales, visual merchandising; 1 - 2 years supervisory experience overseeing in-store sales staff in various locations Extensive travel within region required; Drivers license with a good driving record required. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
