The purpose of this job is to provide comprehensive merchandising support at the store level for MOM brands, including: evaluations of retail implementation of MOM merchandising strategies, coordination with Brokers to sustain strategies and resolve issues, and support for MOM initiatives and promotions so that shelf space is maintained or increased.
MOM merchandising strategy: audit MOM brand merchandising strategies (Distribution Matrix, WIC Items, Flex system) and insure that product is in presentable condition, evaluate merchandising to Gold Standard to gain additional space, and work with retailers and sales team to resolve issues.
Broker Coordination: work with Broker to address merchandising problems, provide continuity coverage, and implement surge based projects.
Sales: sell the Distribution Matrix and promotion items to retailers and key accounts
Sales Support: assist sales team by providing field observations, and supporting such activities as food shows, retail meetings with Broker, and sales presentations.
Education: Four year college degree
Experience: One or more years experience in sales, marketing, or customer service in a consumer packaged goods company, sufficient to gain knowledge of merchandising strategies and tactics.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to facilitate building relationships, understanding and working with others and resolving differences. Must be effective in both written and spoken communications. Strong analytic skills to identify and quickly resolve problems. Must be able to work independently, organize and prioritize work and attend to detail and follow through.
Travel: 30% Overnight Travel.
