Summit Business Media is seeking a Retirement Editor who will be responsible for the development and editorial direction of content for the online products, sites or services; assigns, writes and/or edits content for websites and other digital media; sets and maintains stylistic standards to uphold the brand’s image.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Write/edit stories for online news services; plans, assigns and recruits outside authors
  • Implement online strategies using text, images, and video
  • Moderate or participate in webinars
  • Maintain high visibility in online community (ie: moderating or participating on conference panels, delivering solo speeches at industry meetings, etc.)
  • Write monthly column; maintain blog
  • Report news from industry conferences
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • BA/BS in English, Journalism or related field
  • 4+ years experience writing and editing web content
  • Exceptional line editing and copy-writing skills as well as a sense of what works online
  • New media savvy including blogs, social media
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to take raw copy and turn it into clear, concise prose
  • Proven ability to take a concept or idea and write a variety of content
  • Superior focus and attention to detail; excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, ever-changing environment
  • Working knowledge Mac and Windows-based environments as well as familiarity with Office, Quark, and Photoshop
  • Experience with HTML
  • Proven history of self-direction, creativity, and ability to meet deadlines
