Provides training for new employees (various clerical staff and clinical staff). Refresher courses for existing staff, and ongoing training to meet goals developed by both employees and Vidant Medical Group Operational and Central Business office teams. Develops training manuals and computerized on-line modules for scheduling, registration, charge entry, and EMR education. Assists with education related to policies, procedures and regulatory compliance. Monitors the volume and accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information at the time of registration. Incorporates a strong emphasis on customer service and quality in educational offerings. Serves as a resource to IT in the development of profiles to maximize the accuracy of claims submissions and analyze the data collected during the registration and claims management process. Collaborates with designated management staff to identify issues that interfere with the department's ability to meet it's goals and develop solutions for same.
Associate college degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Information Services, Education or closely related field of study required. Minimum of one year experience in healthcare revenue cycle management including a minimum of one year of progressive registration and physician billing experience, experience training individuals and developing educational materials for revenue cycle prefered. Two additional years experience beyond the minimum requirement may substitute for the Associates Degree.
