REPORTS TO: Revenue Supervisor JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Revenue Team Lead will assist management by acting as a subject matter expert and by daily supporting their assigned processes. This role will monitor service provided to all internal as well as external customers and will guide responses to assorted requests, account research, and document processing. Maintaining confidentiality and all other aspects of HIPAA compliance are essential in this job.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process and perform quality control of all revenue documentation related to services for new and existing patients; including but not limited to patient intake, customer information checklists to insure the validity and integrity of all patient records, insurance claims, and patient invoicing
  • Promptly respond to escalated customer concerns and research issues related to billing, AR, statement generation and respond to patients and revenue units as appropriate
  • Work on revenue office projects related to billing inventories, AR metrics and reporting and lead calls with service centers to address revenue billing and AR needs of centers for patients
  • Provide daily guidance and training for employees to ensure adherence to Company standards
  • Build and maintain rapport with internal and external customers
  • Evaluate processes to aid in the composition of job procedures
  • Distribute work assignments and cover positions as needed
  • Assist Supervisors in identifying issues to be used in performance feedback and on-going employee development efforts
  • Complete Unselected Reports daily to qualify, select, and book collectible revenue
  • Complete Validation Report daily to gather, qualify, and enter appropriate billing documents to release claims to applicable payers
  • Submit claims to applicable payers, including Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, private insurance, and patients
  • Work explanation of benefits and other requests from insurances daily to insure timely billing
  • Act as a subject matter expert in claims processing and assist Revenue Representatives with related issues
  • Assists with both on-going and new hire staff training
  • Process all accounts over 60 days on a monthly basis with a minimum of 100% completion
  • Contact delinquent patient accounts for the purposes of collection services
  • May be required to assist at times in other operational activities related to the Revenue program
  • QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates degree in Healthcare, Accounting or Business Administration required, Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
  • 3 to 4 years previous medical billing experience, preferably using database systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows based applications, including Outlook, Word and specifically Excel (Excel skills will be tested as part of pre-employment requirements)
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, Medicaid and private insurance revenue processes
  • Excellent customer service skills including verbal/phone and written communication
  • Ability to multi-task and accurately process high volumes of work
  • Availability to work flexible schedule, including some overtime and weekends

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Duties require sitting approximately 80% of work time and walking and standing approximately 20% of the work time. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. safely.
