Organizational Statement

Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing, is currently seeking a ROW Agent for our Houston, Texas office. This person will provide direct support to the Manager for problem resolution, reporting and compliance issues, and various department tracking needs. This person will also review easement forms used to acquire right of way easements, with assistance from legal as needed/required. This position supports planning of easement research and implementation to the Engineering/Construction group and to the Commercial Group.

Responsibilities

Provides assistance to Manager of Special Projects, Operations and Right of way with tasks the Manager might undertake on his own or special projects, all with little or no supervision as needed, including:
Landowner problem resolution;
Reviewing proposed easement documents to assure compliance with company standards and requirements;
Researching title ownership;
Tracking department progress on projects, tasks, and reporting/compliance matters.

May be asked to assist in obtaining difficult easements and properties through direct landowner negotiations or through the use of independent contract right of way agents.
Requires occasional travel for field work with site visitation, coordination of surveyors and environmental.
Provides general Right of Way services to the Engineering and Construction group:
Negotiating pipeline easements.
Providing advice on land and right of way matters.
Researches title ownership of existing ROW easements to provide the required notification for various regulatory activities and provides notification to such persons.

Provides advanced right of way services to the Commercial group:
Prepares schedules of exhibits for divestitures of pipeline segments.
Reviews right of way and easements of third parties for acquisitions (due diligence).
Is, or must become, proficient in Esri GIS mapping capabilities. Company will invest in short term training.

Qualifications

College/University Degree, or landman or ROW certification, with a minimum of 2 years of pipeline or oil and gas landman right of way experience required. Advanced degrees will be given consideration.
Must possess advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential.
Requires high level of initiative and organization skills, ability to work without supervision,and ability to prioritize assignments independently.
Must be able to converse and negotiate with landowners and contract right-of-way agents effectively for acquisition of right of way.
Must possess a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
