Allstate Insurance Company has opportunities as a Risk Assistant in our Hudson, Ohio office. We have multiple opportunities available for a training class scheduled to begin January 28

The purpose of this position is to evaluate and make decisions on individual insurance policies across multiple lines of insurance for particular regions of the country.

The individual will be responsible for:
Evaluating individual new business, policy changes, and customer information across all lines of insurance.

Answering agent inquiries on status of policy, risk eligibility, and underwriting policies and procedures.

Obtaining and analyzing information to ensure quality and accuracy of decisions.

Collaborating and working in a team environment.

Reviewing underwriting decisions.

Obtaining and analyzing information to ensure quality and accuracy of decisions.

Communicating decisions and training issues as needed.

Processing policies by completing appropriate forms and determining appropriate letters and inserts to send to customers.

Identifying opportunities and making recommendations for process improvements.

Providing support to deliver customer service and ensure profitability.

RMBC Risk Assistants spend 70%-90% of their day on the processing of Allstate customer policies. This job requires efficient time management, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while obtaining and analyzing information to ensure quality and accuracy of decisions. Our Risk Assistants use sophisticated computer systems to assist in accessing qualifications for eligibility for approving an Allstate policy, determine any additional relative documentation required, input relevant information, pass important information to other areas of Allstate, and communicate and obtain other information from Allstate employees and agencies.

Start Date: 01/28/13

Shift Time:
9:00 am – 5:30 pm

Salary: $11.97/hour.


We are seeking individuals who have superior customer service skills, the ability to navigate/use computer systems, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Our ideal candidate posses a high school diploma or GED.

Skills required

Intermediate-Written and oral communication skills for interaction with the agency force.

Intermediate-Needs independent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to retain information.

Intermediate-Adaptability/ flexibility while working in a changing environment.

Intermediate-Efficient time management skills.

Intermediate-Analytical abilities in order to evaluate policy information and problem solving skills in order to recognize problems.

Intermediate- Navigating through multiple computer applications to analyze data, exercising independent judgment to evaluate criteria.

Experience Preferred

Knowledge of insurance terminology, principles, coverage’s, and policy types is helpful. Several years of customer service experience. This position requires sitting for long periods. Aptitude test required.
