Risk Control Transportation Specialist
Conduct transportation-related risk control surveys at client locations to understand business operations, loss exposures, and safety management practices. Identify and communicate to underwriting account characteristics and potential hazards that impact risk selection. Consult with customers on transportation industry best practices and ways to control hazards in order to prevent or reduce losses. Influence clients to implement safety recommendations. Develop and deliver technical training for customers and staff. Build and maintain productive relationships with customers, the broker/agent community, underwriting and other Risk Control staff. Be a resource to our customers, agents, and internal business partners on industry issues, regulations, and safety best practices. Apply transportation best practices, where appropriate, to help clients develop ongoing programs for continuous safety improvement. Complete detailed, articulate risk control survey reports for underwriting. Maintain timely, relevant communications with underwriting, agents, and managers. Position will require up to 50 percent travel.
A four-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience is required. Equivalent work experience includes: minimum of three years loss control or fleet safety experience, strong knowledge of the commercial transportation industry, and DOT regulations. Prior commercial auto insurance loss control experience and knowledge of the trucking and luxury passenger transportation industries are a plus.

¿ Computer experience (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
¿ Strong organizational skills, including the ability to meet survey timeliness standards and plan travel effectively.
¿ Ability to create and conduct effective group presentations.
¿ Possess, or have the knowledge and experience to obtain, the Field Safety Representative Certification for Texas and Arkansas.
¿ Driving record and valid driver¿s license that would allow for driving on company business.
