POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a risk analyst position performing risk identification, analysis and management at the project, subsystem and system level. Emphasis will be placed on early identification of potential risk areas, inclusion in a tracking database, implementation of handling strategies and status of action plans. The risk analyst shall provide assessment, action and status reports for the identified risks and issues.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Execute the SLRSC risk management program in a manner that fulfills the mission and strategic goals of the organization while complying with accreditation standards related to risk management.

2. Use SLRSC systems, policies and procedures for the identification, collection and analysis of risk related information.

3. Identify potential losses or impacts including likelihood and severity and plan appropriate actions to minimize impact.

4. Identify, analyze and categorize risks associated with SLRSC program management, interfaces, SE&I, DLM, product acquisition, sustainment and program transition.

5. Serve as a liason for the Eastern Range (ER) SLRSC customers, team members and stakeholders providing expert guidance and assistance in the area of risk management.

6. Performs other duties and assignments as required.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Computer, office support machines (copy machines, fax machines, printers, etc.), telephone, vehicle, etc.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Must be able to lift/push/pull 25 lbs.

Required Experience:
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

BS/BA degree, or equivalent, in project management or related field.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management and/or project management, knowledge of risk identification, qualification, quantification and probability distribution analysis, data management, presentation, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, proficient with PCs and advanced MS Office capabilities. Experience with Active Risk Manager (ARM) desired.

Skills:

1. Ability to think strategically and work in Integrated Project Team (IPT) environment to assist in identifying and controlling program and project level risks.

2. Ability to conduct user training and assist users in the use of process tools/aids.

3. Ability to work with technically and geographically diverse engineering team to meet tight programmatic schedule milestones.

4. Strong team motivation and organizational skills within and external to the department.

5. Strong verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency with PCs and MS Office/Project.

6. Experience in database tool development and implementation.
