Analyzes client transactions to identify fraud, and escalates these issues to the appropriate financial institutions and Law Enforcement agencies. Makes recommendations to our clients or Paychex Branch Managers on how clients need to fund their payroll liabilities.
Performs all necessary follow-up on pending cases of fraud that have been sent to Police or other Law Enforcement agencies. Keeps management apprised of any changes or new cases involving fraud. Performs follow-up investigation of incidents and coordinates findings with outside Law Enforcement Agencies to ensure complete resolution to each case.
Negotiates the method to recover debt, whether payment in full, payment arrangements or binding legal contracts, while maintaining company policy and the client contract.
Utilizes various financial and credit reporting systems to asses transactional risks associated with our clients processing in conjunction with the various product offerings.
Researches and resolves highly complex client and system issues, and provides the necessary feedback to alleviate future issues while maintaining accuracy, integrity and timeliness. Maintains fraud database and develops new reporting strategies to keep management apprised of types of fraud cases being investigated.
Prepares weekly highlights for management, which outlines key successes and reports unusual cases and situations faced by the CCS and their outcomes.
Assembles investigative package to be called into court for testimony.
Acts as the first point of contact for the majority of telephone calls are received through the fraud line. Evaluates the reason for the call and either takes ownership of the issue or provides guidance and direction on who would handle the situation.
Assists in resolving client issues by acting as a liaison with Branch Managers and corporate office on issues.
Assists Human Resources on confidential internal matters as required.
Utilizes credit and financial tools to perform due diligence as requested from management, co-workers, field employees and other departments within Paychex to minimize potential losses and reduce instances of fraud.
Prepares and updates standard operating procedures for the fraud area. Introduces them into actual situations and updates accordingly. To assist in building defenses against fraud situations and give advice on updating procedures to assist in combating fraud in the initial process of setup for a client.
A minimum of 6 years of experience is required. (Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is preferred). Consideration may be given to a candidate with a degree in lieu of experience. Certified Police officer and completion of Interview and Interrogation school required. Certified Fraud Examiner required within 6 months of employment. Ability to testify in court with unimpeachable credibility is required.
