This internship with Vail Resorts will allow in-depth exposure to the dynamic work of the Legal, Risk, as well as the Health & Safety Departments.
The Risk Intern will complete Emergency Response update projects that support the overall Vail Resorts emergency response and preparedness efforts. Additional duties include assessing current and future summer activity risk and updating response plans based on future operational needs. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who possesses the ability to work with senior leadership; ask effective questions; manage ambiguity; and achieve results. The candidate must have strong project management, communication and database skills.
The internship is 40-hours a week and is targeted for a period of 10 weeks, starting immediately. Students looking to earn college credit for this internship are encouraged to apply.
This is a PAID INTERNSHIP.
- Current student working toward a degree in risk management, safety, or a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of OSHA and risk compliance fields
- Excellent organization and analysis skills
- Skilled researcher
- Ability to work independently and within the constraints of tight deadlines
- Database management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be able to commit to a 10 week internship
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge of Vail Resorts and the snow sports industry
- Knowledge of emergency response, ICS, and crisis management
