The purpose of this work unit is to protect the County's assets, including property and employees. This is done by overseeing the self-insured Workers' Compensation, self-insured/self-administered Property/Casualty, and Safety Programs for the County through effective loss control, claims management and procurement of insurance.
This position supervises three full-time staff members in order to fulfill the purpose stated above in day-to-day operations. It also includes overseeing a contract with the County's insurance broker and contract with a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) in the area of Workers' Compensation. The TPA's adjuster is in-house once/week, and this position directs the adjuster as needed
Supervise the Risk Analyst. This involves knowledge of property/casualty insurance and claims administration (of which this position is responsible). This includes training and directing new of procedures and implementation of new systems to track claims and loss histories. Supervise the Risk Management Technician. This involves knowledge of Workers' Compensation rules and regulations and normal operation of business functions. This includes training and directing/fielding questions and implementing new programs and directing of new procedures. Supervise the Safety Specialist. This involves overseeing the safety program which involves development of procedures, implementing trainings, AED program, and Evacuation program.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years work related experience in Risk Management. Managerial experience preferred.

Must have valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must obtain a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of hire date and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years.
