TITLE: ROAD SHOW SPECIALIST

DEPARTMENT: MARKETING
REPORTS TO: VP OF MARKETING
LOCATION: EDEN PRAIRIE, MN

*This postion will travel 100% of the time*

GENERAL PURPOSE
This temporary position is responsible for providing demonstrations and training on Milestone products. This includes assisting with the execution and administering of all demonstration efforts in and around road shows, tradeshows, field trainings and other organizational events. It includes product & booth installation and dismantling, exhibit transportation, shipments and inventory. Training includes field training for dealers & installers.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assist sales team at tradeshow events with demonstrations
  • Transport product to various road show locations for dealer trainings and demonstrations utilizing the company vehicle
  • Maintain the Company vehicle so that it meets all necessary DOT requirements and oversee any necessary maintenance
  • Install booth and products during pre-set and tradeshow/event/meeting set-up; booth and product dismantle at tradeshow
  • Ensure all necessary products and accessories needed for complete installation are shipped/transported to Exhibit Company or Event
  • Work in collaboration with Product Managers and other marketing personnel to develop product layout prior to tradeshows/events
  • Maintain and track tools, tool box and tool kits used for tradeshows/events
  • Maintain accurate demo/tradeshow/promotional inventory
  • Maintain corporate show space to ensure cleanliness and organization
  • Act as liaison between company office personnel and tradeshow/event to communicate and resolve issues relating to missing/lost items, needed information, booth damage, etc.
  • Keep up to date on new product releases, product changes and product availability
  • Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to travel 100% of the time for a period of 5-6 months
  • Must be able to drive company vehicle with product to various locations around the United States
  • Basic personal computer skills including prior use of standard functions with word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail packages
  • Ability to interpret standards, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Effective oral and written skills as well as presentation skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to coordinate a variety of tasks and details
  • Ability to assemble and dismantle mounting solutions for the audio visual industry
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools for product and booth set-up and tear down; ability to build supporting structures or complete booth repairs as necessary
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and carry them out without supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work unsupervised
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage to tight timelines
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills and extremely detail-oriented
  • Positive attitude, initiative and professionalism
  • Requires some degree of creativity and wide level of latitude relating to product display

Minimum Education and Experience Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2-5 years experience as installer or hands on tradeshow ; orcombination of relevant education and experience
Special Job Requirements:
  • Must be available to travel 100% of the time for 5-6 months
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to operate Company owned vehicles
  • This is a temporary position from March - November
  • New College Grads Especially encouraged to apply

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post Secondary Education or Technical School
  • Computer: SAP; CAD
  • Presentation skills and desire to present at installer forum events
  • Prior experience driving a commercial vehicle
  • Prior experience with construction and/or installation

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly; 100 pounds occasionally
  • Must be physically agile (requires bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking)
  • Must be able to mount and/or maneuver equipment on large boards, sometimes overhead or on suspended surfaces
  • Ability to drive for long periods of time to destinations around the US
  • General office environment
  • Regular shop assembly/distribution center environment (no air conditioning)
  • Air travel as needed per tradeshow and training schedule
