Central Lakes College (CLC) seeks a temporary part-time Robotics Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at CLC are professionally active scholars who particpate in departmental and campuswide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the College mission. The courses are Introduction to Manufacturing (2 credits) and Topics in Robotics - Manufacturing Math (1 credit). These courses will run from March 19, 2013 to May 10, 2013: Tuesday/Thursday from 12:00 - 2:50 p.m.
Examples of Duties:
Activities related to college teaching and learning including but not limited to:
Instructional planning, teaching, learning.
Assessment of student performance.
Student recruitment, retention and advising.
Maintenance of professional skills and credentials.
Participation in college activities.
Work closely with department to maintain and enhance curriculum and assess program outcomes.
Bachelor or above degree in mechanical, electrical, computer, packaging or motion control engineering; industrial process control or robotics and 4000 hours of occupational experience or
Associate degree or two year diploma (90 quarter credits) in automated programs in systems, manufacturing, machinery, packaging and equipment; computer manufacturing or instrumentation technology; electronics; robotics; artificial intelligence or fluid power and 6000 hours of occupational experience. Occupational Experience Requirement
Experience must be in automated manufacturing process application and industrial controls with 4000 hours including recency in two of the following: systems troubleshooting and repair, configuration and product process, interfacing and programming; production planning or manufacturing methods. Remaining experience may be in CAD, CNC, electrician with 220 voltage application, electronics technician, fluid power mechanics, automation application or programming, mechanical power transmission or quality control in a production environment. Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Central Lakes College combines the best of both Brainerd Community College and Brainerd Staples Technical College. The two were combined to create CLC on July 1, 1995.
